Site Visit City Logistics: DHL and other Dutch examples

2 October 2018 3:40 – 7:30 pm

The most advanced developments for vehicles and therefore logistics are first implemented in the city, the place where technical innovation and societal problems come face to face.

Having a discussion about innovation is great, but seeing it happening in real life is even better. With a mayor port, a very large climate ambition and air quality problems, stakeholders in The Netherlands are testing leading innovations in Rotterdam. During this site visit you will see and hear about state-of-the art city logistics.

DHL Logistic centre
The site visit is at the DHL logistics centre, the leading innovative centre for package distribution. During a tour, visitors will see what happens during a typical rush hour and the hear some of the insights of DHL.

Outlook Logistics
The Dutch national government is taking the initiative to make a report on the expected innovations up to 2050. For each supply chain within the city logistics, detailed information is given about the transition, expected technical and logistical developments, and expected GHG emissions.

Breytner
Breytner is a Dutch transport company that only uses full electric freight trucks. They optimise the supply chain in such a way that they are able to achieve zero-emission transport in urban areas. They will explain what they have and how they do it.
